Our Recent Activities and Initiatives

The Davison Group contracted with Lebanon County, PA, to provide technical assistance in strategic planning for enhanced performance of the county’s Criminal Justice Advisory Board.

The Davison Group is providing technical assistance to the Adams County Court of Common Pleas for vision, mission, and values development and implementation, and has contracted with the county for technical assistance in strategic planning to enhance Criminal Justice Advisory Board performance.

The Davison Group contracted with Carbon and York Counties, PA, to provide technical assistance in strategic planning for enhanced performance of their Criminal Justice Advisory Boards.

The Davison Group is under contract with Juniata County, PA, to provide technical assistance to enhanced service effectiveness through Criminal Justice Advisory Board strategic planning. This project also includes technical assistance to achieve more effective management of the offender population, especially at the jail. The Davison Group is also working with the Bradford County, PA, Criminal Justice Advisory Board to enhance the efficacy of the CJAB as a vehicle for criminal justice system change.

The Davison Group has contracted with Lehigh Carbon Community College in Lehigh County, PA, to evaluate its information technology system. In 2007-2008, we provided technical assistance in strategic planning for the college. The collaborative transformational process used to develop the strategic plan will be the subject of a presentation at the League for Innovation in the Community College March 2009 conference in Reno, NV.  Bill will join LCCC President Donald Snyder and Cecelia Connelly-Weida, Associate Dean, Planning and Assessment, for the presentation.

The Davison Group is providing technical assistance to Lower Macungie Township, PA, a first class township near Allentown, to conduct a business process review of operations and develop job descriptions.

The Davison Group is now in its third year of providing technical assistance to the Blair County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, and in its second year of working with the Lackawanna County Criminal Justice Advisory Board. Both are strategic planning and performance enhancement projects. The Lackawanna County project also includes development of a Central Intake process and human services mapping.

The Davison Group continues to evaluate the effectiveness of the Lehigh County, PA, Adult Probation and Parole Office’s GPS program and Lackawanna County’s DUI Treatment Court.

 

Art Amann joins Davison Group
William N. Davison has announced the addition of Art Amann, EdD, to The Davison Group team as vice president. Dr. Amann’s principal area of specialization is in courts and criminal justice, but he has also been involved with the educational and nonprofit sectors for much of his career. “I have had the pleasure of knowing Art and working with him for many years,” Davison said. “We are extremely pleased to add him to our team. He has an extraordinarily broad knowledge of criminal justice operations and county government and his collaborative approach to decision making and problem solving make him an outstanding addition to our team.”

Dr. Amann’s distinguished career in criminal justice included positions as Director of Adult Probation and Parole and Warden and Director of Corrections for Erie County. He was among the founders of Erie’s Weed & Seed Program and facilitated the county’s Criminal Justice Advisory Board for many years. Art has served the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in a variety of capacities and in 2000 graduated from the National Institute of Corrections’ Executive Excellence Program. The director of the Mercyhurst College Public Safety Institute and Police Academy. Art holds an undergraduate degree in education from Slippery Rock University, a master’s degree in corrections from Gannon University, and a doctorate in education from Nova Southeastern University. His postgraduate specialization was in the training and education of criminal justice leaders.
